Last Friday, Congresswoman Martha McSally and her team visited Angel MedFlight’s headquarters in Scottsdale. This is our latest meeting with an elected official following the company’s nomination as a Semifinalist for the Secretary of Defense Freedom Award this spring.
Meet the Congresswoman and our Service Members
Congresswoman McSally stopped by the offices to honor the award as an accomplishment for the company and the state of Arizona where Angel MedFlight is headquartered. Congresswoman Martha McSally represents Arizona’s 2nd congressional district, including the southeastern corner of the state; roughly two-thirds of Tucson.
The Congresswoman stopped for a brief photo op with our onsite active duty member and veterans before touring our headquarters. She was guided through every department to shake hands and meet with all of our team members who make everything we do for patients and healthcare providers possible.

What Makes this Nomination Significant
The Freedom Award is the most distinguished recognition awarded by the U.S. Government to employers for their support of business members serving in the National Guard and Reserve. The Guardsmen and Reservists submitted 2,330 nominations, Semifinalists included just 149 businesses of all sizes from across the nation.

Medical Flight Nurse and Staff Sergeant John Moyer, a medic with the 94th Air Medical Staging Transport Squadron USAF and our Director of Clinical and Chief Nursing Officer, CDR Bambi Pish-Derr, a nurse with EMF Dallas One USN each nominated Angel MedFlight separately. She was excited to meet with the Congresswoman in person last week.
